See Virtual Tour Below:
Each spring, the Elizabeth Holden Gallery organizes a campus wide Student Juried Art Show that honors the hard work and creativity of our students. This show is professionally juried and helps to give the experience of submitting and showing work in a gallery setting. This show is viewable by peers, the Warren Wilson community and other working artists at large.

Meet the Jurors:
Honey Simone is the founder & co-creator of Different Wrld, a creative hub & culture house in Asheville, NC. Their intention through creating the space is to break down the barriers of entry in the creative industries through access to equipment, resources & human connection. A multi-disciplinary creative, Honey has produced a range of immersive spaces & events, installation art & community building experiences in the rural underground art scene of Western Carolina.
Sofia Campins is a multimedia artist and musician, and has been based in Asheville since 2016. She works with a range of mediums, mostly with acrylic to create abstract art influenced by nature and anatomy. Sofi also uses her influence from her Venezuelan upbringing as a source of inspiration in her work. Depth and movement can be found, each viewer discovering something unseen by the last. Sofi’s music works in genres such as jazz and neo-soul. She brings together her passion for all arts and is currently working on beginning a master’s in museum studies to further her career in curation. Her most recent projects include a fellowship with Engaging Collections at Buncombe County Special Collections, and collaboration with Different Wrld, the upcoming culture house + creative hub in West Asheville.

Juror’s Statement:
Textured Visions:
An examination of tangible emotions
Texture is the feel, appearance, or consistency of a surface or substance. While viewing all of your pieces we realized that the room was full of texture – not just in the traditional definition, but full of an immense amount of emotional texture. We were very drawn to the pieces where we could experience some of your emotional processes. At Different Wrld, we strive to practice as well as deeply appreciate art that interacts with the socio-political landscape. We made our decisions based on a mixture of reasons but we chose pieces that sparked an emotion in us and displayed an understanding of the textured vision.
We want to acknowledge the emotions & energy put into each piece in the Warren Wilson College Annual Student Exhibition. We believe art is the greatest translation of the human experience. We hope & lovingly expect to see all of your work sprinkled throughout the community & world because the amount of talent was truly overwhelming.
We encourage you all to continue to create & expand the vast world we like to call art. Thank you for your submissions, long live the artist.
